Most bottle projects start with a material question. PET gives clarity, gloss and good barrier for fragrance and personal care; HDPE gives chemical resistance, a soft-touch surface and better squeeze behaviour.
Where PET earns its cost
Transparent and frosted PET shows the product, which matters for serums, oils and premium supplements. It also takes electroplating and hot stamping cleanly on the shoulder.
Where HDPE is the safer choice
For aggressive fills, larger volumes (from 500 mL to 2.5 L) and child-resistant closures, HDPE resists stress cracking and holds a thread better over repeated opening.
Four points to fix before tooling
Fill volume and headspace, neck finish (36-400, 42-400 or 52-400), closure type, and decoration method. Confirm these and sampling usually takes one or two rounds.
